Statement On Reports of Steel and Aluminum Tariff Rollbacks

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 13, 2026 – Following reports that the Administration plans to roll back some steel and aluminum tariffs, with Administration officials acknowledging the levies are raising prices on everyday goods,  We Pay the Tariffs, a coalition of more than 800 small businesses, called for the elimination of all new tariffs imposed over the past year.

"Reports of steel and aluminum tariff rollbacks show the administration knows its unpopular tariffs are doing more harm than good. The administration should go a step further and eliminate all new tariffs imposed over the last year, which have hurt small businesses in particular." said Dan Anthony, Executive Director of We Pay the Tariffs.

Small Business Interviews Available: We Pay the Tariffs has small business owners across the country who have been directly impacted by steel and aluminum tariffs, including manufacturers, distributors, and retailers whose costs have skyrocketed under Section 232 levies.
