FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
WASHINGTON — Dan Anthony, Executive Director of the We Pay the Tariffs coalition, issued the following statement in response to today's Court of International Trade ruling ordering full refunds of IEEPA tariffs.
"This is a victory for small businesses who have paid billions in unlawful tariffs and deserve their money back. The Court acted swiftly and correctly. Now the ball is in the government's court and small businesses are concerned they will drag this out further.
"American small businesses have waited long enough. A full, fast, and automatic refund process is what these businesses are owed and anything less is unacceptable."
Over 1,000 Small Businesses Are Already Demanding Refunds
More than 1,000 small businesses have signed a letter to Congress and the Administration calling for full, fast, and automatic refunds of unlawful IEEPA tariffs. The letter calls on policymakers to act without delay and ensure refunds are issued directly to importers of record using existing payment records, without requiring businesses to apply, hire lawyers, or wait years for relief.

We Pay the Tariffs has calculated the IEEPA tariff burden borne by businesses across all 50 states through December 2025. Actual refunds of tariffs collected through the February 20 Supreme Court ruling will therefore be higher.
