Read: We Pay the Tariffs released new Pennsylvania-specific data ahead of President Trump's address on the economy and inflation at the Mount Airy Casino Resort in Northeast Pennsylvania.


TOPLINE STATS:

Pennsylvania companies paid $5.7 billion in tariffs in the year ending August 2025, compared to $2.1 billion in the year ending August 2024.
The average tariff rate on imports into PA jumped from 2.2% in August 2024 to 10.4% in August 2025.

KEY PA INDUSTRIES HIT HARD:


  • Frozen Beef: $233 million in tariffs (up from $28 million) — over 700% increase

  • Cars & Vehicles: $573 million in tariffs (up from $4.8 million), despite imports declining 12%

  • Medical Devices: $239 million in tariffs (up from $66 million)

  • Home Building Materials: $263 million in tariffs (up from $118 million)
